Our Story
Built from love. Named for legacy.
Lynova isn't just a skincare line. It's a tribute, a comeback, and a reminder that the best things are made with your hands and your whole heart.
Where It All Began
It Started with
My Daughter
✦
Lynova wasn't planned. It wasn't a business idea. It started because my daughter JayLynn kept breaking out in rashes and I couldn't find anything gentle enough for her skin.
So I made something myself. I got in the kitchen, started experimenting with natural butters and oils, and tried to figure out what would actually work without irritating her. The first batch? Not great. But I kept going.
My best friend saw what I was making and immediately started telling me I needed to sell it. I wasn't thinking like that at all — I was just trying to help my daughter. But she wouldn't let up. And before I even had a chance to think it through, she called me and said she had a booth at an event and she was featuring my body butter.
That's how it began. Not with a plan — with people who believed in it before I did.
My mother, Rosalyn, was one of those people. From the very beginning, she was out there telling her friends, sharing it with family, posting about it on social media. She didn't wait to be asked. She just showed up for it — the way she always showed up for me. And when it came time to understand the craft more deeply, she was right there too, researching ingredients, learning their benefits, bringing me what she found.
She believed in these products. She believed in me. And then she was gone.
Grief has a way of stopping everything. The line went quiet. I stepped away — not by choice, really, but because some seasons you're just trying to survive them. The original name never felt fully like mine anyway. It was always something I'd settled on, never something I loved.
Coming back meant doing it right. A new name. An improved line. A fresh start built on everything that had already been poured into it — including her. JayLynn, the little girl this all started for, carries both our names. Mine and her grandmother's. So Lynova — a blend of Lyn, my mother's name and her warmth, and nova, meaning new star — was never just a tribute. It was the name this line was always supposed to have.
This is the comeback. Grief-tested, love-built, and long overdue.
Every batch made now carries that weight and that joy both. The legacy isn't just her name on the label — it's her voice that first spread the word, her research that shaped the formulas, and the simple fact that she never stopped believing this was something worth sharing.
With love,

The People Behind
Every Jar
✦
There is no Lynova without love, legacy, and friendship.
To my sister-friend — the one I found in college and have never let go of. You believed in these butters and creams before I fully believed in myself. You booked the first event without asking, you showed up, and you have been promoting this brand on your own time ever since. That kind of loyalty isn't something you ask for. It's something you're blessed with.
To my best friend — you saw something in the Relief Cream before I even knew what I had. You put it on your platform, you gave it to your customers, and you told anyone who would listen. You think my gold mine is that cream. Maybe you're right. Either way — thank you for betting on me with your name behind it.
To my brother — thank you for believing in me and supporting me however you could. That belief meant more than you know.
To my boys and their father — you are the reason I keep going. You tolerated the mess, offered ideas and opinions nobody asked for, gave financial support when it mattered, and somehow never lost faith even when I wasn't sure I had any. Every batch made, every late night, every event — it was always for you. You don't need to see your names here to know this whole thing exists because of you.
A joke became a group. A group became a sisterhood. And a sisterhood became some of the most important support this brand has ever had.
To the BUMS — Beautiful, Unfiltered, Moms, Society. What started as a name for a video chat during a pandemic became something none of us expected. You gave feedback when I needed honesty. You bought when I needed sales. You promoted, you gifted, you sold from your salon, and two of you have been loyal customers from the very beginning.
And to my uncle — fifty gift boxes. Every year. To your clients, as gifts, with your name behind them. You didn't just support Lynova — you introduced it to rooms I never could have reached on my own. That is a legacy within a legacy.
I did not build this alone. I never could have. And I will never forget it.

The Mission
Radiance,
For Everyone
✦
Good skincare shouldn't be a luxury only some people get to have. That's always been the point.
Every Lynova formula is built around premium, organic ingredients — real butters, real oils, real results — for every skin type, head to toe. We started with shea butter because of what it actually does: deeply hydrating, non-clogging, no greasy residue, no fillers. Just skin that feels genuinely taken care of. Because that's exactly what it is.

Butters, Creams & Lotions
✦
One of the most common questions I get: what's the difference between a butter, a cream, and a lotion? Honestly, it comes down to how much your skin needs right now.
Think of it as a spectrum. Butters are on the rich end — no water, all nourishment, made for skin that's really struggling. Lotions are the lighter end — quick, breezy, hydration without the weight. And creams sit right in the middle, which is why so many people reach for them year-round.
Body Butters
Most Intensive · No Water
This is where it all started for me — and honestly, it's still my favorite. Body butters have zero water in them, which means every bit of what's inside is working for your skin. They melt right on contact and sink in deep. If your skin is dry, rough, patchy, or just been through it — this is what you need. They're especially everything in winter, but if your skin runs dry, you'll want this year-round.
Body Creams
Balanced · Richer Than Lotion
If you want something substantial but not heavy, a cream is your answer. It has water in it, so it's lighter than a butter, but it still has a good amount of oil and butter blended in — enough that your skin actually feels the difference. Great for dry or cracked skin, and easy enough to use every single day without feeling like it's too much.
Body Lotions
Lightweight · Fast Absorbing
Lotions are your quick, no-fuss option. High water content means they absorb fast, feel light, and never leave that heavy or greasy feeling behind. If your skin is more normal or oily, or it's the middle of summer and you just need something clean and easy — this is it. Don't let the lightweight fool you though, your skin will still feel the hydration.
Oils, Jellies & Balms
✦
Here's what a lot of people don't realize — oils, jellies, and balms work differently than butters and lotions. They're not just more of the same.
Butters, creams, and lotions bring moisture to your skin. These three? They're mostly about keeping it there. Sealing it in, protecting it, and giving extra attention to the spots that need it most. Once you understand that, you'll know exactly when to reach for each one.
Body Oils
Sealing · Luminosity
A body oil's job is to seal everything in. No water — just pure, lightweight nourishment that sits on the skin and keeps all the moisture you already put there from escaping. Apply it right after your shower or layer it over your lotion or cream and watch the difference. Over time, you'll notice your skin holds onto its glow a lot longer. Plus that sheen? Unmatched.
Body Jellies
Cushiony · Slow-Release
Jellies are one of those things people try once and then wonder where they've been all their life. The texture is unlike anything else — soft, cushiony, slow to melt, and when it does it turns into this silky layer that just holds moisture in for hours. It's richer than an oil but easier to spread than a balm. I love recommending these for nighttime — put it on before bed and wake up to completely different skin.
Body Balms
Most Concentrated · Targeted
Balms are the heavy hitters. Super concentrated, barely any water, and built to create a real barrier on the skin. You're not spreading this all over — you're putting it exactly where you need it most. Elbows. Knees. Heels. Hands. The places that always seem to take the most abuse and get the least attention. If a spot on your skin has been rough or cracked for a while, a balm is what's going to finally turn it around.
Your Skin, Your Formula
Find Your Formula
✦
Not sure where to start? That's what this is for. Your skin type matters, but so does the season, the time of day, and honestly — how your skin feels right now.
For
Very Dry or Mature Skin
Reach for body butters and balms. These are your most restorative options — dense, waterless, and built to repair. Layer an oil on top to seal everything in.
For
Dry or Sensitive Skin
Body creams and jellies are your allies. Rich enough to nourish, gentle enough for reactive skin — particularly wonderful in autumn and winter.
For
Normal or Combination Skin
A lightweight lotion or body oil will keep skin balanced without feeling heavy. Spot-treat drier areas with a cream or balm as needed.
For
Oily or Dehydrated Skin
Lotions are your best friends — fast-absorbing, non-greasy, and effective. An oil used sparingly can also provide deep nourishment without heaviness.
For
Rough Patches & Problem Areas
Apply balm directly to elbows, knees, heels, and hands. Concentrated and targeted — exactly where you need it most.
For
Nighttime Ritual
Jellies are the quiet hero of the nighttime routine. Put it on before bed and wake up to noticeably softer, more supple skin.
The Golden Rule
Season, Ritual & Daily Care
✦
Your skin in January is not your skin in July. What works in winter can feel like way too much in summer — and what you love in summer might leave you dry and flaky by November.
Autumn & Winter
Protect & Restore
Cold air is harsh and it will take from your skin fast. This is the season to go rich — body butters, balms, jellies. You want something that builds a real barrier and holds moisture in even when everything outside is trying to strip it away. Don't be shy with your product in winter. Your skin will thank you.

Spring & Summer
Hydrate & Illuminate
When it's warm and humid, your skin doesn't need as much help holding onto moisture — it's already getting some from the air. This is your lotion and light oil season. Keep it simple, keep it fresh. You still need to moisturize every day, you just don't need to layer it on as heavy.
Recommended: Body Lotions · Light Creams
Fast-Absorbing Oils
Spot Balms as needed
One rule holds, always and in every season:
moisturize your skin, every single day.
I know it sounds simple, but daily moisturizing is genuinely the one thing that makes the biggest difference over time. Not the fanciest product, not the most expensive routine — just consistency. Skin that gets moisturized every day looks different. It feels different. The texture improves, the dryness stops coming back, and that softness becomes your normal.
It doesn't have to be a whole thing. Two minutes after your shower. That's it. Just show up for your skin every day and it will show up for you.
Take care of your skin every day — not because you have to, but because you deserve that two minutes of feeling good in your body.

Your skin deserves this.
